Oats - a valuable food, feed and industrial crop as its grain contains 10% of protein, and 37-48% of starch.
Grain oats is used for the production of cereals (ranked the first place in nutritional value), flour (confectionery), oatmeal coffee, feed (grain and straw) and as concentrated animal feed. Oats is grown for green fodder in its pure form or mixed with leguminous crops (peas, chyna, vetch). About 95% of oat is grown for animal feed or as an industrial crop, and only 5% for human consumption. From all of varieties of oats the most valuable are those in which grain has a white color, less valuable - black, the least valuable (forage) - red and gray. Grain oats contains too little gluten, so in bread production it isn’t used. There is winter and spring oat that are spread in production. The spring oat sorts are being grown in Ukraine. Oats has the greatest amount of fat (6.2%) and cellulose (10.7% - more than buckwheat), compared with other crops.
The root system of oats doesn’t penetrate deeply, but has a large number of root hairs and high assimilating ability. Oats absorbs phosphorus from insoluble compounds so it is fussy to the soils. It grows well in sandy, loam, clay, peat soils. It hardly grows in saline soils. Fruit – is hulled or naked weevil. Oats – is the crop of temperate climate, not demanding to heat in Ukraine spread mainly in woodlands and forest-steppe. Oats is the most hydrophilic among cereals. During germination of seeds it absorb 60-65% water of its own weight, so it is effective for this crop are soaking seeds before planting in a solution of microelements.

It is advisable to combine feeding with the introduction of crop protection and urea (if necessary).
If necessary, it is recommended to use «ROSTOK» Zink and «ROSTOK» Manganese.
