Stems are single or grow bundles, straight, 10-60 cm tall.
Leaves are linear-lanceolate, rough edges, blue-green.
The root system fibrous roots. Propagated by seeds.
Flowering period and fruiting in july — september.
Inflorescence — panicle
The seeds are grains, egg-oval, in the size of 2-2,75x1,65-1,75x1,0 mm.
Reproductive capacity - up to 13.8 thousand seeds per plant. Keeps viability in the soil up to 30 years, rest period - up to 6 months.
Germinates at temperatures of 6-24 ° С. Stairs appear in April-May from a depth of 16-18 cm.
Wide spread throughout Ukraine. Clogs up late gullies: millet, corn, rice, sunflower, beets and others, a typical post-seed.
